About The Position

The Intern, Community Relations, will support the planning & execution of community initiatives, player appearances, and fan-facing events. The role sits at the intersection of football operations, community outreach, and brand awareness, working closely with football operations and business teams to deliver community appearances. Students who wish to participate in an internship opportunity with Ottawa Sports & Entertainment Group must be a part of an accredited post-secondary program where fulfillment of internship credit is required for graduation. This internship is a four (4) month full-time position from September 2026 to December 2026. Candidates must be enrolled in a post secondary education program offering class credits for the internship placement - this is an unpaid internship.

Requirements

  • Interest in the development, planning, and execution of programming and events in the world of professional sports.
  • Excellent inter-personal skills to build and foster relationships.
  • Professionalism in dealing with athletes & community stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
  • Strong written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in community relations, events, or player relations is considered an asset.
  • Bilingualism (English & French) is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development, planning, and execution of community events & programs for the REDBLACKS and 67’s.
  • Schedule and attend player appearances in the community with third party community partners.
  • Manage internal & external mascot appearance requests.
  • Process & fulfill all in-kind OSEG Donation requests.
  • Maintain CRM/tracking of community events and appearances.
  • Collect and compile feedback for post-event reporting & assist in analyzing feedback for impact reporting.
  • Conduct market research on prospective community partners & programs to drive new engagement opportunities.
  • Assist the Community Relations Manager with game-day engagement initiatives.
  • Assist the Community Relations Department with other duties as assigned.
