About The Position

Home Care Assistance is seeking a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) for a community client in Coldwater/Orillia. The role involves a specific shift schedule of 7:20 am - 3:20 pm, four days a week, with one bi-weekly overnight shift, totaling five shifts bi-weekly on weekends. A key responsibility includes accompanying the client to school to monitor seizure activity. The company is looking for dedicated staff for ongoing regular shifts with this client and the flexibility to pick up additional shifts with other clients as needed. Requirements

• Current certificate of competence with the College of Nurses of Ontario
• Valid First Aid/CPR certificate
• Vulnerable sector screen and 2 satisfactory professional references
• Ability to accurately follow written and verbal instructions
• G-tube experience, med resistive and reactive, comfortable with managing seizures
• Must have a valid license and reliable vehicle
• Willingness to adjust to a scent-free lifestyle due to scents triggering seizure activity
• Effective time management skills to work under specified time constraints and in accordance with job routines, while observing policies and procedures as well as applicable work standards and safety regulations

Responsibilities

• Conducting assessments and reassessments
• Developing, monitoring, and updating plans of care, as assigned
• Providing medication support and administration
• Responding to all emergency situations
• Completing reports and communicating with the family about any changes in care
• Meeting the Standards of the College of Nurses of Ontario at all times
• All other duties, as assigned
