About The Position

This position coordinates programs in Maryland Department of Health’s – Deer’s Head Hospital Center by conducting studies and implementing assigned program activities in the areas of mental health, developmental disabilities, addiction and health services. This position plans, coordinates and supervises a comprehensive Community Projects Program which is designed to enhance the lives of patients and residents and support the hospital’s mission and vision. This position will prepare reports, flyers, letters, and other correspondence. This position also arranges programming and scheduling of social, recreational, religious, including distribution of donated supplies and contributions. This position will promote customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
  • One year of professional experience in assisting in the coordination of a health-related program(s) or referring people to governmental and private resources.
  • Candidates may substitute 30 college credit hours from an accredited college or university for the required experience.
  • Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Health Care Administration classifications or Civil Affairs Specialist specialty codes in the health-related field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience and education.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Acute Care and/or Long-Term Acute Care and/or clinically complex patients or residents in skilled nursing facilities
  • Experience using verbal and written correspondence for collaborating with staff, residents, and families
  • Experience streamlining complex healthcare workflows, spearheading targeted program activities, and conducting operational studies to directly enhance the lives of patients and residents
