About The Position

The Community Partnership Coordinator is responsible for cultivating and developing relationships with potential and existing community partners and community stakeholders to increase access to food across the state of South Dakota. This position is also responsible for identifying and evaluating program viability, opportunities to improve existing partnerships and program offerings, as well as making recommendations to Leadership for improvement in the aforementioned areas. The Community Partnership Coordinator is responsible for raising awareness regarding food insecurity within their respective service area, increasing food access through the creation of community-led initiatives and agency partnerships as well as acting as a conduit between the community and Feeding South Dakotas’ multidisciplinary team.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or Equivalent Experience Required
  • 6-10 Years Relevant Experience
  • Microsoft Office Specialist: Associate Required
  • Proficient Microsoft Office skills and advanced technology skills.
  • Friendly and helpful attitude toward internal and external stakeholders, with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Professional manner and demeanor, including effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent project and time management skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changes and quickly pivot in times of uncertainty.

Responsibilities

  • Using data provided by Feeding South Dakota, identify trends and gaps, potential community partners and stakeholders, and create a strategic plan to meet food insecurity needs in each county within designated geographic region.
  • Provide ongoing support to community partners to ensure successful collaboration and implementation of strategic plan.
  • Ensure community partners are compliant and operating within the guidelines set by both Feeding South Dakota and Feeding America regarding partnership agreements.
  • Ensure community partners are compliant and operating within the guidelines set by the Federal government (USDA) as it pertains to commodity programs (TEFAP & CSFP).
  • Provide ongoing support to community partners electronically and conduct between two to three site visits with potential and existing partners per week. Visiting with community stakeholders can also be part of the total number of site visits per week.
  • Facilitate between two to four tours per month of Feeding South Dakota distribution center within respective region.
  • Assist in the development of educational training materials and the creation of standard operating procedures for the Community Partnership Team.
  • Responsible for training new community partners regarding Feeding South Dakotas programs and policies (TEFAP, Senior Box, Backpack, School Pantry and Wellness Pantries) as we continue to grow and work with more communities.
  • Responsible for the ongoing maintenance and updates of county resource information.
  • Identifies community partner forum topics and recommendations.
  • Other duties as assigned.
