This Community Outreach Veterinary Assistant serves as a vital link between Mountain Humane, pet owners, and the veterinary team by expanding access to affordable veterinary care and community resources. The role combines community outreach, client education, care coordination, and veterinary support to improve animal health and strengthen the human-animal bond. Responsibilities include conducting proactive and reactive community outreach, coordinating spay/neuter and veterinary services, providing compassionate client support, maintaining accurate client and animal records, assisting with shelter and public veterinary care, supporting shelter population health, and ensuring the veterinary clinic and medical facilities remain clean, organized, and well-stocked. This position works collaboratively with the Access to Care Manager, veterinarians, veterinary technicians, and other shelter staff to deliver high-quality services while advancing Mountain Humane's mission of keeping pets healthy, safe, and in their homes whenever possible. Additionally, this position requires daily travel between areas in South Central Idaho and Mountain Humane in Hailey to transport animals for veterinary and outreach services.
