University of Florida’s Veterinary Community Outreach Program (VCOP) is recruiting for a Veterinary Technician to join their team centered around providing medical care to shelter and rescue animals. The program is designed to introduce students to the challenges of veterinary practice in both community and shelter environments and give experience in spay and neuter techniques plus preventative medicine of canines and felines. This position works closely with clinicians and students providing necessary care to adoptable pets. This is a fast-paced area with a strong teaching component. Technicians provide support by assisting veterinarians with exams, treatments, anesthesia, and surgery, as well as providing insight, instruction, and demonstration to veterinary students.
