Community Outreach Representative - $20/hr Guaranteed
About The Position
Public Outreach is hiring Community Outreach Representatives in San Diego to represent leading nonprofit organizations and connect people with causes that matter. This is an active, face-to-face role. You’ll spend your day meeting new people, exploring different parts of San Diego, and building relationships — not sitting behind a desk. This role is great for individuals who enjoy talking with different types of people, are friendly, approachable, and confident, can start conversations with people they’ve never met, have a positive attitude and strong work ethic, enjoy teamwork and a fast-paced environment, and want a job where every day feels different. Experience that can translate well includes hospitality (servers, bartenders, hosts), retail sales, customer service, event staff, brand ambassador roles, sales, marketing, public relations, volunteer work, and community organizations. No fundraising experience is required, as paid training and support are provided.
Requirements
- Must be 18+ years old
- Authorized to work in the United States
- Comfortable speaking with the public every day
- Able to work outdoors and remain on your feet during shifts
- Reliable transportation or ability to get to team meeting locations
- Minimum availability of 21 hours per week
Nice To Haves
- Experience in hospitality, retail, customer service, events, sales, or any role where communication and connection are important
- Experience in marketing
- Experience in public relations

- Experience with community organizations
Responsibilities
- Have meaningful conversations with members of the public
- Represent nonprofit organizations in community spaces throughout San Diego
- Share information about important humanitarian, environmental, and social causes
- Encourage people to support organizations they believe in
- Work alongside a supportive team while developing your communication skills
- Receive paid training and coaching from experienced leaders
