About The Position

This Federal Work Study position at Columbus Metropolitan Library involves supporting various library functions, including circulation, program assistance, and administrative tasks. The role requires strong literacy and communication skills, comfort with technology, and a proactive, team-oriented approach. Candidates must be current Franklin students with Federal Work Study eligibility and will need to complete an online application, an interview, and a background check. The specific location will be determined based on availability and schedule, as CML has 23 locations.

Responsibilities

  • Appropriately shelving all materials, including board books, DVDs, paperbacks, etc.
  • Preparing materials for shelving and tidying up in general.
  • Straightening materials or picking up after customers to make the area presentable to the public.
  • Assisting in work that supports library programming such as set up or take down of program supplies.
  • Preparing materials to be used in programs.
  • Organizing supplies.
  • Supporting staff in implementation and participation in library programs.
  • Providing computer support, using Microsoft Office suite of tools when appropriate.
  • Sorting, organizing and/or alphabetizing documents, copying or scanning files, and other administrative and clerical tasks to support team productivity and organizational efficiency.
  • Additional work as assigned by the Supervisor.
