About The Position

God’s Love We Deliver is seeking a Community Outreach Associate to join their Business Development and Community Partnerships Department. This role is responsible for conducting outreach, engagement, and education sessions to cultivate consistent referrals from healthcare and community providers. The associate will support efforts to increase awareness of God’s Love, expand the client base through partnerships, and grow the organization’s network. The position involves using research and data to engage partners, build relationships, conduct outreach, and generate client referrals to meet annual goals for clients served and revenue. This is a remote position requiring travel and flexibility throughout the New York Capitol Region, with the understanding that the office will include community and healthcare spaces. The candidate must be a resident of the New York Capitol Region, with potential for home visits. Leadership and the team will be based in New York City. The role requires a self-starter comfortable with daily reporting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 3 years of experience in a fast-paced healthcare or nonprofit environment
  • Experience conducting community outreach and/or engaging with community-based organizations in a healthcare or nonprofit setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage effectively and persuasively with diverse audiences, including community members, healthcare providers, and other external stakeholders.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and public speaking skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organizational, administrative, project management, and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also managing responsibilities independently.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to balance immediate priorities with longer-term goals and opportunities.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends for outreach and engagement events as needed.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with NYC’s community-based and/or healthcare landscape is a plus.
  • Experience with Monday.com, Canva, and/or Raiser’s Edge NXT is a plus.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct outreach and engagement with all current and potential partners, including managed care organizations, healthcare systems, federally qualified health centers, community-based organizations, community groups, and other referral sources, through meetings, presentations, and other engagement activities.
  • Develop, strengthen, and execute outreach, engagement, and education strategies to reach current and prospective referrers to the philanthropic program, including Ryan White-funded programs serving people living with HIV, other grant-specific initiatives, and contracted healthcare and managed care partners.
  • Develop and execute outreach strategies that advance the organization’s health equity goals by connecting with individuals and communities historically marginalized and disproportionately impacted by chronic disease.
  • Deliver high-quality customer service and maintain strong relationships with partner organizations, providers, and clients. Support the team in responding to partner needs and strengthening engagement with referral agencies.
  • Partner with the Chief Business Development Officer, colleagues across the Business Development & Community Partnerships Department, and other client-facing Managers and Directors to coordinate outreach activities, ensure appropriate coverage, and track meetings, presentations, and other engagement efforts.
  • Maintain consistent communication with staff at community-based and partner organizations to coordinate education sessions and teleconferences for current and new agency staff. Engage providers on referral trends, program updates, and service offerings, and develop presentations and educational materials that increase understanding of medically tailored meals and medical nutrition therapy for individuals living with chronic illness.
  • Partner with the Manager of Healthcare Partners and Manager of Client Services to facilitate new enrollments resulting from outreach and partnership activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of outreach, engagement, and marketing activities, including trends, growth opportunities, and stakeholder challenges. Track and report on activities and maintain current partner and contact information in Monday.com and Raiser’s Edge NXT Database; prepare internal and external reports as needed.
  • Support agency advocacy efforts, including Food is Medicine public policy initiatives, that advance partnership and contracting opportunities, such as New York State Medicaid Redesign initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the Communications team to develop collateral materials, announcements, blog posts, press releases, and other communications supporting contracted partnerships.
