Planned Parenthood Pasadena & San Gabriel Valley (PPPSGV) is seeking a temporary Community Organizer to support its Public Affairs department from September 2026 to June 2027. This role will focus on implementing grassroots and political efforts to enhance PPPSGV's advocacy and organizing leadership within its service area communities. The Community Organizer will develop and manage community outreach initiatives to build a progressive activist base, and recruit, engage, and mobilize targeted constituencies around reproductive rights issues. This position supports both the 501(c)3 organization (Planned Parenthood Pasadena and San Gabriel Valley) and the 501(c)4 organization (Planned Parenthood Advocates Pasadena and San Gabriel Valley). The role involves bridging relationship gaps between PPPSGV and communities in the San Gabriel Valley and Northeast Los Angeles, ensuring accurate and culturally responsive messaging in multiple languages. The organizer will work with stakeholders to develop culturally responsive, multilingual political education and advocacy campaigns, and ensure PPPSGV's advocacy programs are culturally responsive, accessible, and community-informed. Building relationships and forming coalitions with community leaders, including youth, faith groups, businesses, healthcare providers, and other organizations, through outreach, education, civic engagement, and advocacy is a key responsibility. The position also requires serving as a sexual and reproductive health care subject matter expert and managing get out the vote efforts for both organizations.
