About The Position

Responsible for managing the Community Office to meet the financial services needs of customers in the assigned community market area. This includes implementing strategies to achieve office goals as part of the Retail Banking Division's annual operating plan, ensuring compliance with operating policies and procedures, and directly supervising assigned personnel. The role also involves performing all duties of a Relationship Advisor.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent with an emphasis in accounting or business curriculum.
  • Successful completion of First United Bank & Trust Community Office Manager Certification Program.
  • Obtain and maintain appropriate Bank Product Knowledge Certification.
  • Obtain and maintain active Nationwide Mortgage Licensing Registry (NMLS) and complete appropriate SAFE Act training.
  • Proficient reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics skills.
  • Proficient interpersonal relations, communicative, and sales skills.
  • Demonstrated management and supervisory skills sufficient to manage a staff of up to eight (8) employees and/or branch asset size of $16 million to $40 million.
  • Moderate consumer lending authority and small business banking skills.
  • A thorough knowledge of the features and benefits of all bank products and services.
  • A working knowledge of bank operating policies and procedures.
  • Visual and auditory skills.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • A minimum of three (3) to five (5) years' related experience.

Responsibilities

  • Manages the Community Office to meet customer financial services needs.
  • Works with management to establish growth, sales, and profit objectives for the office.
  • Ensures the community office is properly staffed and staff is trained to meet customer service and sales objectives.
  • Ensures all office operations are performed in accordance with established bank policies and procedures.
  • Provides for the proper security, maintenance, and cleanliness of the office.
  • Supervises the opening and closing of the building and vault.
  • Makes provisions for the securing and accounting of negotiable papers.
  • Establishes specific sales and customer service goals for each sales representative in consultation with the sales staff.
  • Ensures all customer service personnel are adequately trained in product knowledge and selling techniques.
  • Ensures all sales and customer service reporting information is provided on a timely basis.
  • Conducts regularly scheduled sales and customer service meetings.
  • Serves as an active member of the office customer service team by performing all duties of a Relationship Advisor and is held accountable for sales performance.
  • Makes 'outside' sales and customer service calls on present and prospective customers.
  • Actively participates in the community in a manner that reflects favorably on the Bank.
  • Becomes actively involved in targeted community activities and organizations.
  • Implements strategies to achieve goals assigned to the office as established in the Retail Banking Division's annual operating plan.
  • Assists in the development of the annual budget for the office and adheres to budget parameters.
  • Abides by current laws and organizational policies and procedures designed to promote an environment free of harassment and illegal discriminatory behavior.
  • Cooperates with, participates in, and supports adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and practices for risk management, safety, and soundness, and regulatory compliance.
  • Ensures the office and all personnel adhere to regulatory requirements.
  • Directly supervises assigned personnel, including assisting in selection, providing orientation and training, reviewing performance, organizing and distributing work, and keeping personnel informed of policies.
  • Creates an atmosphere where upward communication from employees is encouraged.
  • Administers personnel policies and procedures.
  • Communicates with other managers and staff to integrate goals and activities.
  • Provides periodic reports to management and other groups as required.
  • Participates as an active member of the Team Sales group.
  • Proactively identifies fee income opportunities by referring across all lines of business to meet assigned fee production goals.
  • Performs ancillary duties that are supportive in nature to the essential functions of the job.
