About The Position

Wells Fargo is seeking a bilingual Spanish/English Community Mortgage Bank Sales Consultant in Consumer Lending as part of Home Lending. The consultant sits within assigned bank branches and originates mortgage loans. The role involves working with branch leadership and employees, engaging prospective and existing customers, assessing mortgage needs, processing applications, and supporting clients throughout the origination process. The position requires compliance with mortgage lending, SAFE registration, Loan Originator, underwriting, and other regulatory requirements. Ongoing employment is contingent on meeting applicable licensing, background, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

At least 2 years of sales experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education.
Bilingual speaking and reading proficiency in Spanish and English.
Must take and pass the required Spanish language assessment.
Willingness to travel.
Reliable transportation.
Must meet applicable Loan Originator financial responsibility, character, general financial fitness, and criminal background standards.
Must obtain SAFE registration at the time of employment and meet ongoing regulatory requirements, including additional screening if necessary.

Nice To Haves

At least 2 years of mortgage retail sales experience.
Expertise in general lending products and overall mortgage industry experience.
Experience with retail residential mortgage, including purchase fundings over the past 12 months referred primarily from established local or external sources.
Established relationships with diverse realtor organizations and affordable lending nonprofits in the assigned market.
Experience with community loan products, including specialized LMI mortgage solutions, lender-paid assistance programs, and third-party assistance programs.
FHA/VA and conventional loan experience.
Knowledge of sales prospecting and generating referrals.
Experience educating clients on various mortgage purchase programs.
Experience developing and cultivating professional relationships.
Customer service experience.
Basic Microsoft Office skills.
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to provide leadership through coaching, training, and mentoring.

Responsibilities

Sit within assigned bank branches and originate mortgage loans.
Collaborate with branch leadership, participate in branch huddles, and mentor and coach employees to increase knowledge of mortgage products and processes.
Perform miscellaneous duties as needed and required.
Conduct outbound calls to existing and prospective customers regarding mortgage loan products and complete associated tracking activities.
Understand customers’ needs, provide high-quality customer service, explain Wells Fargo Home Mortgage programs, and offer mortgage loan products based on client needs.
Process mortgage loan applications and review rates and terms within guidelines.
Maintain client satisfaction and quality through timely, proactive customer communication.
Pursue Wells Fargo training offerings to increase knowledge of company products, policies, procedures, and underwriting requirements.
Follow policies, underwriting requirements, compliance requirements, and loan procedures, and collaborate with fulfillment partners throughout the origination process.
Stay informed about mortgage industry trends and developments in the assigned market and maintain visibility for Wells Fargo Home Mortgage in the marketplace.
Meet SAFE Mortgage Licensing Act requirements, SAFE registration requirements, and Loan Originator qualification and regulatory requirements.
Travel as required and work nights, weekends, or holidays as needed or scheduled.
