About The Position

Good Shepherd is seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a Community Mental Health Worker - HOMES - McGinty House. In this role, you will work to make a difference in the lives of tenants living at all on-site locations: McGinty House. You will provide tenants with primary case management and community resources. Services to tenants include assessment & planning, and providing crisis prevention and intervention and supportive counseling. Demonstrate commitment to the Good Shepherd mission values of Hospitality, Responsibility, Availability, Adaptability, Quality and Dignity. Responsible for participating in Good Shepherd's Health and Safety programs, procedures, and work in compliance with the provisions of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and its regulations to minimize risk to clients, staff and others as well as to the property of the Good Shepherd.

Requirements

  • A post-secondary education in social or health services
  • A minimum of three years' experience in mental health, and concurrent disorders is required
  • 'Recovery orientation' and 'consumer driven' style of practice is essential
  • Possess the ability to work independently and think creatively
  • CPR certification or willingness to be certified is required
  • Committed to anti-racist/anti-oppressive practice and to the mission and values of Good Shepherd
  • Demonstrated understanding of workplace health and safety practices and understanding of an employee's responsibility under current legislation.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to speak French and/or other languages considered an asset
