About The Position

The Community Living Manager is responsible for the management of staff, including hiring, firing, training, and supervision. This role ensures that all Home and Community Based Services, habilitation services, and county SCL services meet the requirements of the licensing bodies and Hope Haven Inc., and operate within established budgets. A key focus is ensuring the home-based habilitation program effectively rehabilitates individuals in the community while they self-manage their mental illness.

Requirements

  • BA or BS degree in human services field OR 5 years experience in a supervisory or management role.
  • 3 years experience working with persons who have a mental illness.
  • Ability to manage time effectively.
  • Committed to the philosophy of integration.
  • Proven leadership/management abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written).
  • Computer literate or have basic knowledge computer skills.
  • Clearance from a criminal background check and abuse reporting check at time of hire.
  • Ability to pass a health assessment at time of hire and ability to maintain up to date health assessment as requested per regulations.
  • Reliable Transportation in order to be mobile between managed sites.
  • Provide proof of state minimum liability insurance coverage.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Provide proof of state minimum liability coverage.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the hiring process, orientation, training, supervision and evaluation of assigned staff in accordance with Hope Haven Policies and Procedures.
  • Responsible that managed services meet/exceed applicable licensing and/or accreditation standards/regulations.
  • Responsible that assigned programs operate within established budgets.
  • Interpret and enforce all Hope Haven Policies and Procedures as they pertain to assigned staff and programs.
  • Develop and implement recovery based training for habilitation staff as it pertains to the unique needs of individuals served.
  • Provide support to teams in times of mental health crisis, which may include attending and/or facilitating debriefing meetings.
  • Member of the Admissions team as it relates to persons who are referred to managed services.
  • Assure regular contact with staff in all communities.
  • Work cooperatively with other agency staff in developing effective teams.
  • Responsible for all aspects of safety.
  • Provide safety training.
  • Review safety practices annually.
  • Ensure service sites are maintained to provide safe environments for staff and clients to live and work.
  • Complete performance management system (PMS) report and implement within services.
