About The Position

The Community Living Clinical Director provides strategic clinical leadership and oversight for all behavioral and clinical services within the Community Living division. This role ensures services are evidence-based, person-centered, compliant with regulatory standards, and aligned with BHA’s mission and values. The Clinical Director oversees the development, implementation, and effectiveness of Behavior Support Plans (BSPs), Individual Support Plans (ISPs), and ABA-based programming across residential settings. This position partners closely with Operations, Nursing, and Executive Leadership to ensure individuals receive safe, meaningful supports that improve quality of life. The Clinical Director is responsible for building a high-performing clinical team, ensuring treatment fidelity, driving quality improvement, and establishing systems that promote consistency, accountability, and positive outcomes.

Requirements

  • Master’s or Doctoral degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Special Education, or related field
  • Current BCBA certification and applicable state licensure (MO/Kansas as applicable)
  • Completion of BACB-approved 8-hour supervision training
  • Minimum five (5) years of ABA experience, including three (3) years in a leadership role
  • Strong clinical leadership, team development, and coaching skills
  • Advanced knowledge of ABA, BSP development, behavior reduction strategies, and data-driven decision-making
  • Ability to develop systems, processes, and scalable clinical solutions
  • Strong collaboration skills across clinical, operational, and administrative teams
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and lead through change
  • Knowledge of crisis management, compliance standards, and quality assurance practices
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and clinical data management systems

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in residential or intensive behavioral services preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic oversight of all clinical programming within Community Living.
  • Ensure BSPs, ISPs, and ABA interventions are individualized, effective, and implemented with fidelity.
  • Review clinical outcomes, analyze data, and implement improvements to support meaningful progress.
  • Ensure behavioral supports promote dignity, safety, independence, and quality of life.
  • Participate in clinical incident reviews and crisis response planning.
  • Develop and maintain clinical quality assurance processes.
  • Ensure compliance with BACB standards, state regulations, payer requirements, and BHA policies.
  • Monitor documentation, assessments, treatment plans, and clinical performance metrics.
  • Conduct audits and implement corrective actions when needed.
  • Maintain readiness for regulatory reviews and surveys.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop clinical team members.
  • Ensure BACB and licensure supervision requirements are met.
  • Develop and deliver training for clinical and direct care staff.
  • Promote accountability, consistency, and continuous professional growth.
  • Provide coaching and performance feedback to support team success.
  • Partner with Operations, Nursing, and leadership teams to align clinical and operational goals.
  • Support resource planning, service delivery efficiency, and quality outcomes.
  • Collaborate with families, providers, and stakeholders to support individualized care.
  • Advocate for individuals served and ensure appropriate supports are in place.
  • Participate in on-call rotation and provide clinical leadership during behavioral crises.
  • Ensure teams understand escalation procedures and response expectations.
  • Serve as a calm, solution-focused leader during high-pressure situations.
  • Participate in organizational initiatives, strategic planning, and process improvement efforts.
  • Complete required documentation, reporting, billing, and compliance requirements.
  • Participate in meetings, trainings, and leadership activities.
  • Uphold BHA’s mission, values, and standards.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
