About The Position

The Community Kids Coordinator provides leadership for elementary ministry at the Mount Pleasant campus, implementing the Community Kids vision in partnership with campus and central Next Generation leadership. The role champions a Gospel-centered, fun, engaging, and safe children’s ministry environment and helps lead children toward a focused life with Jesus Christ. The coordinator implements the Community Kids vision and strategy at the campus in alignment with the church’s mission and direction from the Lead Pastor and Director of Next Generation. The position leads weekly elementary programming, develops volunteers, builds relationships with children and families, supports ministry administration, and collaborates with campus and central leaders to provide a consistent, safe, and effective ministry experience. As a member of the church staff, the coordinator is expected to model spiritual maturity, personal discipleship, and the character and lifestyle outlined for Community Church employees. The position is accountable to the Mount Pleasant Campus Pastor and receives an annual performance review. Compensation is reviewed annually by the Board of Trustees.

Requirements

Effective oral and written communication skills.
Ability to build relationships, coach volunteer leaders, communicate expectations, and address challenges constructively.
Experience in ministry in a medium to large church setting.
Strong biblical and theological foundation and ability to communicate biblical truth clearly and appropriately to elementary-aged children.
Self-motivated leadership and relational skills with staff, volunteers, and congregation members.
Experience leading and recruiting children’s ministry volunteers and equipping them with resources and curriculum.
Familiarity with technology supporting Community Kids ministry, such as Church Community Builder, Slack, and BILL.com; training will be provided.
Basic proficiency with Google Workspace applications, including Google Docs and Google Sheets.
Basic proficiency with database software; training will be provided.

Responsibilities

Model spiritual maturity, personal discipleship, and the character and lifestyle expected of Community Church staff.
Participate in the life and mission of Community Church through groups and volunteer teams, and promote unity across ministries and teams.
Foster a Community Kids culture at the Mount Pleasant campus aligned with the mission, vision, and values of Community Church.
Lead weekly elementary ministry programming and ensure curriculum, volunteer teams, supplies, and environments are prepared.
Collaborate with the Campus Pastor and Director of Next Generation to support quality, consistency, and excellence in ministry.
Build relationships with children and families, communicate ministry information, and help families take next steps in discipleship and connection.
Partner with other Community Kids staff to support ministry transitions, safety practices, and children with differing needs.
Recruit, onboard, train, schedule, coach, encourage, and develop elementary ministry volunteers and leaders.
Help foster spiritual growth, relational health, and leadership development at the Mount Pleasant campus under the guidance of the Campus Pastor.
Track expenses, manage supplies, and assist with budget planning within approved budgets and spending guidelines.
Maintain familiarity with systems that support church operations and keep current records of participating children and families.
Communicate regularly with the Campus Pastor and Director of Next Generation to coordinate ministry across campuses and central leadership.
Seek feedback and leadership development opportunities, receive coaching, and implement change constructively.
