About The Position

We are looking for a mission-driven and results-oriented Community Impact Specialist to join our Programs team in the Capital District. In this pivotal role, you will drive measurable change by developing and executing initiatives that strengthen community partnerships, mobilize resources, and enhance our efforts to combat hunger and food insecurity. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator and connector who thrives on collaboration and is deeply committed to community empowerment and equity.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in nonprofit management, social work, public health, or a related field (Bachelor's degree preferred).
  • ServSafe Manager Certification is a plus.
  • 1-2 years of experience in community outreach, volunteer coordination, or nonprofit program implementation.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage diverse communities and build trust-based relationships.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Understanding social justice issues, especially related to food insecurity and poverty.
  • Passion for making a tangible difference in underserved communities, with a strong commitment to equity, inclusion, and community-led solutions.
  • Valid NYS driver's license and the ability to travel locally and regionally three to five days per month.

Responsibilities

  • Build and sustain strong relationships with community-based organizations, schools, faith groups, businesses, and other local stakeholders to promote collaborative programmatic impact.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities to extend the reach and effectiveness of hunger relief initiatives through strategic partnerships.
  • Serve as a visible ambassador for the organization at public forums, community events, and key stakeholder meetings.
  • Design and implement outreach campaigns, educational sessions, and community forums to not just raise awareness of food insecurity and related issues, but to provide partners and neighbors with tangible tools to make programmatic impacts.
  • In conjunction with department leadership, work with the marketing and communications team to craft compelling stories, resources, and media that highlight community impact and mobilize public support.
