About The Position

The Community Impact Fellow is a full-time Rural Partners Corps (RPC) AmeriCorps position hosted by Strategic Twin-Counties Education Partnership (STEP). STEP works to improve educational opportunities for students in the Twin Counties area, from cradle to career, by facilitating collaboration among schools, community colleges, community-based organizations, and employers. Working alongside STEP staff and community partners, the Fellow will help advance the Local Education Attainment Collaborative (LEAC) by strengthening community engagement, expanding participation in its three working groups, and supporting collaborative efforts to improve educational and workforce outcomes. The Fellow will also contribute to STEP’s broader strategic initiatives by identifying ways to strengthen partnerships, improve organizational systems, document outcomes, and expand the reach and sustainability of the organization’s work. All activities are carried out under the guidance, supervision, and direction of program and host site staff. RPC Fellows receive structured training and support during the service year, including a virtual national-cohort orientation, an in-person national Winter Institute, twice-monthly virtual skills training, self-paced curricula, a community listening tour, dedicated one-to-one support from a Lead For America Program Coordinator, twice-monthly peer pod meetings, and access to a national network of fellows, alumni, and community partners. The service term runs from December 7, 2026, through August 13, 2027. Fellows serve approximately 40 hours per week and complete 1,200 service hours over the term.
