About The Position

With the goal of enhancing lives, fulfilling dreams and building communities, this position is responsible for supporting and achieving the overall credit union initiatives, goals and mission. Responsible for management and execution of the credit union’s brand strategy as it relates to community & business development, financial education, communications, and member engagement. This position will be a part of a vibrant, innovative and creative Community Impact & Communications (CI&C) team whose work enables Numerica Credit Union to give back to the community, build meaningful external relationships and support our members’ financial needs through products, services and financial education throughout eastern & central Washington and northern Idaho. Partners with Senior Management and works across all business lines, to drive results of our strategic plan which include execution of events, sponsorships, grants, content and communications, scholarships, education initiatives, branch and department support, business development and relationship building.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, PR, Communications, Project Management, or equivalent degree plus 3 years of related experience or equivalent training or any combination of skills and experience equivalent to above requirements.
  • Advanced verbal communication and writing skills.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Strong ability to speak effectively before groups of members or employees of credit union.
  • Ability to write letters, correspondences, pamphlets, and other marketing materials.
  • Ability to read, write, communicate and negotiate clearly with different levels of individuals.
  • A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact.
  • Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for purposes of giving or obtaining information, building relationships, or soliciting cooperation.
  • Work involves extensive personal contact with others and/or can be of a personal or sensitive nature.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of the operational issues involving opening accounts and providing member service.
  • Strong sales skills; ability to make proposals to executives as well as employees, to follow-up, and to successfully sell the credit union and its products and services.
  • Ability to proactively generate sales leads and produce results.
  • Ability to manage sales contacts with use of a computer sales contact management program.
  • Ability and willingness to prospect, team sell, work with multiple markets and maintain multi-level relationship within a client organizations.
  • Ability to effectively operate with high energy and flexibility in a fast paced, team environment to organize and plan for optimal productivity.
  • Knowledge of and ability to create presentations using Microsoft PowerPoint.
  • Ability to operate all standard office machinery such as: fax machine, photocopier, typewriter, adding machine, telephone, laser printers, and occasionally VCR, television set, and DVD player.
  • Ability to drive/operate credit union vehicles safely.
  • Ability to lift minimum of 25 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates CI&C programs including: Community impact events and activities including sponsorships, and community/member-facing activities
  • Employee engagement activities such as volunteerism, internal committee participation, annual payroll giving campaign, and others as assigned
  • Annual grant making and corporate philanthropy efforts such as Numerica CARES for Kids activities and Charitable Fund
  • Content and communications strategy as a mechanism for story-telling, education, and engagement.
  • Partners in the management of Numerica’s reputation of being an outstanding corporate community citizen including high-level business and community development.
  • Fostering and management of key relationships including community outreach programs, university outreach programs, corporate business development and high-level relationships and sponsorships, non-profit programs, and strategic brand and department relationship alignment and management.
  • Coordinating CI&C event planning and hosting efforts, including nonprofit relationship support, guest communication, volunteer recruitment and on-site event activation.
  • Uncovers, coordinates, and promotes volunteer engagement events for internal members.
  • Building quality programming that connects employees with their community in a dynamic and meaningful way.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive social media strategies to enhance brand visibility, engagement, and growth across multiple platforms including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube and more.
  • Researches and identifies new activation techniques and/or promotional items for events.
  • Partners with Marketing to identify, assess, and process orders of marketing/promotional supplies.
  • Managing supply stock and reordering when necessary.
  • Operates within approved CI&C budgets.
  • Tracks invoices, events, attendees, volunteers and all appropriate event details in Asana software.
  • Periodically delivering sponsorship messages at public events.
  • Supports the business development and member-engagement efforts of Retail Experience via events and promotions.
  • Acts as a liaison for internal stakeholders through event coordination and logistical support for branch-led events such as First Friday, Grand Opening events, Business After Hours and member-appreciation events.
  • Managing relationships with assigned Retail partners (Branch Buddies) to ensure collaboration and to increase awareness of CI&C programs and benefits.
  • Manages CI&C materials and equipment including Salsa Photobooth(s), Tents and inflatable equipment, tables and tablecloths etc.
  • Cultivating community contacts and developing collaborative relationships with members of the community and representatives of community groups.
  • Provides administrative support for the Numerica Charitable Fund and other Numerica CARES for Kids-related campaigns.
  • Researches and understands market-area needs and trends pertaining to systemic issues within the focus of the Numerica Charitable Fund.
  • Supports community outreach efforts such as Five Days of Family Fun annual campaign, as well as internal engagement initiatives such as employee payroll giving.
  • Completes all job functions within the time frames and performance standards outlined by the Performance Management objectives.
  • Maintains knowledge and adheres to all BSA regulations and compliance standards on internal and external policies.
