About The Position

This part-time contractual position provides school nursing services for students to improve, maintain, or adapt to their health status in order to strengthen and enhance their educational experience.

Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited college or university.
• Current license as a Registered Nurse from the Maryland State Board of Nursing.
• Possession of a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland (if assigned duties requiring operation of a motor vehicle).
• Must provide a telephone number at which they can be reached.

Nice To Haves

• Candidates may substitute a Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited college or university and one year of experience as a Registered Nurse for the required education.
• Candidates may substitute two years of experience as a Registered Nurse for the required education.
• Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Nursing classification or Nursing or Health Care Specialist specialty codes in the Nursing field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

• Provides school nursing services for students to improve, maintain, or adapt to their health status in order to strengthen and enhance their educational experience.

Benefits

• Subsidized health benefits coverage for themselves and their dependents (if working 30+ hours/week or 130+ hours/month under a State Employee and Retiree Health and Welfare Benefits Program contract).
• 25% of the premiums for medical and prescription coverage paid by the employee, with the State subsidizing the remaining 75%.
• Option to enroll in dental coverage (full premium paid by employee).
• Option to enroll in accidental death and dismemberment insurance (full premium paid by employee).
• Option to enroll in life insurance (full premium paid by employee).
• Leave granted at a rate of one hour for every 30 hours worked, not to exceed 40 hours per calendar year.
