About The Position

This part-time position may be filled at one of the following levels: Community Health Nurse I, Grade 21, or Community Health Nurse II, Grade 24. The salary range is based on 20 hours a week. The anticipated hiring salary for Community Health Nurse I will be $36,283.50 - $43,886.03, with an hourly rate of $34.88 - $42.19. The anticipated hiring range for Community Health Nurse II will be $41,176 - $52,795.50, with an hourly rate of $39.59 - $50.76. This is a term position budgeted through July 1, 2027, with continued employment subject to funding. Requirements

  • Graduation from a National League for Nursing accredited college or university or an equivalent program with a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
  • Possession of a current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Maryland, issued by the Maryland Board of Examiners, at the time of appointment.
  • If the license is temporary, a regular Maryland RN license must be obtained within ninety (90) days of appointment.
  • The State of Maryland accepts current RN licensure from a candidate's primary state of residence if that state has an interstate compact with Maryland.
  • For Community Health Nurse II, Grade 24: Two (2) years of full-time equivalent post-licensure experience as a Registered Nurse, one year of which must have been in the nursing area of Immunization.

Responsibilities

  • Perform nursing duties and tasks of the Immunization Program.
  • Review and assess immunization records.
  • Communicate with parents/guardians regarding vaccines.
  • Provide vaccine education.
  • Administer all vaccines during Vaccine for Children (VFC) clinic days, adult vaccination clinics, and other vaccination clinics.
  • Conduct immunization outreach and education.
  • Coordinate vaccination clinics.
  • Assist with WIC (immunization records review).
  • Assist with the annual Private School Survey.
