About The Position

The Community Health Grants Administrator is responsible for coordinating and overseeing grant and community health administration activities within the Health Department. This position supports the full grant lifecycle, including funding opportunity identification, application development, budget tracking, contract management, reporting, compliance monitoring, and program evaluation support. The Community Health Grants Administrator works collaboratively with Health Department staff, Tribal departments, consultants, and external partners to ensure grant-funded programs are effectively implemented, monitored, and maintained in accordance with funding requirements. This position plays a key role in supporting the Department's strategic priorities related to community health, chronic disease prevention, nutrition, maternal and child health, environmental health, and wellness initiatives.

Requirements

  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret policies, regulations, and funding requirements
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, and utilize computer equipment for extended periods
  • Ability to travel occasionally for meetings, trainings, and conferences
  • Ability to work occasional evenings or weekends, as needed
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, including pushing/pulling, carrying, crouching and reaching
  • Associate's degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Public Health, Accounting, Finance, or related field required
  • Three (3) years of experience in grant administration, program administration, project management, finance, public health, or related field
  • Experience managing multiple projects, deadlines, and reporting requirements
  • Successful candidate must pass the background check in accordance with the Indian Child Protection and Family Violence Prevention Act (ICPA)
  • No felony convictions or misdemeanors involving moral turpitude or issues of integrity

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Experience with federal grant administration and reporting, preferred
  • Experience working within Tribal government, healthcare, public health, or nonprofit organizations, preferred
  • Familiarity with federal funding agencies including CDC, IHS, HRSA, USDA, SAMHSA, and related programs, preferred
  • Experience with grant budgets, procurement procedures, contracts, and performance measures, preferred
  • Knowledge of program evaluation and data reporting systems, preferred
