About The Position

Mountain Lake Services is seeking a compassionate and driven individual for the Community Habilitation Specialist position in Port Henry, NY. This role offers a flexible Monday through Friday schedule and provides opportunities to get involved with the local community while working with a company that has a multitude of career opportunities. The specialist will provide direct support to children and adults with ID/DD living in the community, plan and implement recreational activities, and network within the community to develop friendships and volunteer opportunities.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience working with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support to children and adults with ID/DD living in the community.
• Plan and implement a variety of recreational activities/opportunities.
• Play a lead role in developing meaningful in-house and community activities with an emphasis on age-appropriate activities and social experience.
• Actively network within the community to help develop friendships, natural supports, volunteer opportunities etc.
