About The Position
At In Flight, Inc., we empower individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, to reach for their hopes and dreams, and support a meaningful quality of life. We’re looking for compassionate and motivated individuals to join our Community Habilitation program. As a Community Habilitation Direct Support Professional (DSP), you will work one-on-one with children and/or adults with developmental disabilities, providing support at home and in the community to help them build independence and life skills. This is a flexible, fun, and rewarding role where you can make a direct impact. Cases are in Hudson, Red Hook and Stanfordville. This is a per diem position.
Requirements
- Pass all NYS and OPWDD background clearances
- USE OF YOUR OWN VEHICLE - Mileage reimbursement available
- Valid NYS driver license with proper insurance coverage
- Be empathetic and have a team approach to care for the individuals
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Be energetic, creative, and have a sense of humor
- Be able to attend mandatory trainings as needed
Nice To Haves
- Working with Individuals that have IDD preferred but not required
- One year of related experience is preferred. Working as caregivers or with adults with developmental disabilities.
