About The Position

At In Flight, Inc., we empower individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to reach for their hopes and dreams and support a meaningful quality of life. We are looking for compassionate and motivated individuals to join our Community Habilitation program. As a Community Habilitation Direct Support Professional (DSP), you will work one-on-one with children and/or adults with developmental disabilities, providing support at home and in the community to help them build independence and life skills. This is a flexible, fun, and rewarding role where you can make a direct impact. Cases are in Hudson, Red Hook and Stanfordville. This is a per diem position.

Requirements

• Pass all NYS and OPWDD background clearances
• USE OF YOUR OWN VEHICLE - Mileage reimbursement available
• Valid NYS driver license with proper insurance coverage.
• Regularly required to stand, walk.
• Occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl.
• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.

Nice To Haves

• Working with Individuals that have IDD preferred but not required
• One year of related experience is preferred.
• Working as caregivers or with adults with developmental disabilities.
• Be empathetic and have a team approach to care for the individuals
• Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Be energetic, creative, and have a sense of humor
• Be able to attend mandatory trainings as needed
• An associate degree is preferred.
