About The Position
The purpose of this position within the organization is to plan, coordinate, and administer the Community Garden Program for the City of Hampton. This position works under general supervision according to set procedures. Oversees a team of volunteers.
Requirements
- High school diploma or successful completion of a GED.
- One (1) year of experience with coordinating volunteers and working in community gardens, or closely related experience.
- Knowledge of crop planting schedules, gardening maintenance, and knowledge of pesticide management.
- Ability to instruct program participants of all ages, abilities and backgrounds.
- Valid driver’s license and a satisfactory driver’s record based on the City of Hampton’s criteria.
- Must successfully pass a background check related to this position prior to any offer of employment or promotion.
