About The Position

Suncoast Center has been providing emotional wellness services to individuals and families for over 80 years. The organization prides itself on fostering a diverse and inclusive environment and supports the professional growth of its clinicians through free Qualified Supervision, continuing education, and a supportive team. The Total Family Strategy (TFS) Therapist role is dedicated to building resiliency within families by working with the entire family unit to promote a healthy and harmonious home environment. This strategy, founded over 30 years ago, aims to prevent child abuse by teaching parenting skills.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree required in Mental Health and Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related field.
  • Registered (or eligible to become registered) in the state of Florida as a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern, Registered Clinical Social Work Intern, or a Registered Marriage & Family Therapy Intern is required.
  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Must have a negative drug screening prior to hire and throughout employment.
  • Must pass a Criminal Background Check, local checks, and DCF Level II Background Screening prior to hire and annually.
  • Must be in compliance with Florida Laws and Administrative Codes with fingerprinting and determined to be of good moral character.
  • Must have valid Florida Driver’s License and pass motor vehicle checks prior to hire and annually with acceptable driving record maintained throughout employment along with reliable vehicle, valid registration, and valid vehicle insurance.
  • Computer Literate

Responsibilities

  • Provide evidence-based mental health treatment to clients either in person or via telehealth within client’s homes.
  • Completes mental health and psychosocial assessments as part of the diagnostic evaluation.
  • Conduct intakes, treatment planning, and individual and family psychotherapy services to diverse populations.
  • Provide family, individual, couples, and group therapy, as needed.
  • Complete and maintain documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Provide crisis intervention, as necessary.
  • Collaborate with community partners and other agency programs.
  • Participate in supervision, staffings, and team meetings.
  • Must be available at least 3 evenings a week, Monday through Friday.
  • Maintains productivity level in accordance with agency standards
  • Other job duties as assigned.
