About The Position

Texas Sports Academy is a K-12 school for serious student-athletes, combining elite academics with high-level athletic development. Students complete twice the material in two hours a day using the 2-Hour Learning model, leaving afternoons for training with former professional and Division I athletes. The Community Event Host represents the school at community events for homeschool families in Houston, Dallas/Fort Worth, Austin, and San Antonio. Events are held in partnership with gyms, fields, and training facilities. The host welcomes families, answers questions, and helps make a positive first impression of the school. The work is part-time on weekday daytimes. Travel time each way is paid, and gas and reasonable expenses are reimbursed. More event scheduling may create additional work in each host's metro area.

Requirements

Enjoy approaching strangers and starting conversations.
Be comfortable speaking to a group on a microphone for a few minutes.
Have experience hosting or running events.
Be comfortable taking photos and short videos on a phone.
Be available on weekday daytimes.
Have reliable transportation and be willing to drive within the metro area.
Be able to pass a background check.

Responsibilities

Arrive 30 minutes early, meet the facility lead, and prepare the check-in area.
Work with facility staff to ensure every family checks in.
Give the group a brief welcome of about two minutes and introduce the school.
Speak with every family attending, including enrolled families and local homeschool families learning about the school.
Explain the school and Texas Education Freedom Accounts (TEFA) in clear, friendly language.
Take a few photos and short video clips on a phone.
