About The Position

Texas Sports Academy is a K–12 school for student-athletes seeking rigorous academics and high-level athletic development. Its students complete twice the material in two hours a day using the Alpha School 2-Hour Learning model, leaving afternoons available for athletic training with former professional and Division I athletes.

The Community Event Host represents the school at events for homeschool families held at partner gyms, fields, and training facilities in Texas. Hosts welcome families, answer questions, and help create a positive first impression of the school. The role is part-time, with weekday daytime events in Houston, Dallas/Fort Worth, Austin, and San Antonio. Travel time each way is paid, and gas and reasonable expenses are reimbursed.

Requirements

• Enjoy approaching strangers and starting conversations.
• Be comfortable speaking to a group on a microphone for a few minutes.
• Have experience hosting or running events.
• Be comfortable taking photos and short videos on a phone.
• Be available on weekday days.
• Have reliable transportation and be willing to drive within the metro area.
• Be able to pass a background check.

• Be a current parent with a student enrolled at the school.
• Be a homeschool parent.
• Have competed in sports at a serious level.
• Have a background working in education.

Responsibilities

• Arrive 30 minutes before an event, meet the facility lead, and prepare the check-in area.
• Coordinate with facility staff to ensure every family checks in.
• Give the group a brief welcome of about two minutes and introduce the school.
• Speak with every family and answer their questions, including questions from enrolled families and local homeschool families learning about the school.
• Explain Texas Sports Academy and Texas Education Freedom Accounts (TEFA) in plain, friendly language.
• Take a few photos and short video clips using a phone.
