The Client's Community Engagement (CE) team runs a broad portfolio of philanthropic, volunteer, and sponsorship programs, including Global Day of Service, the annual United Way campaign, and Phase 1 of the Modernization Initiative. As Project Manager, you will serve as the operational backbone for these programs and for the tools that power them — keeping tasks, deadlines, and committee work on track, owning the CE team’s project management software and workflow tooling, and administering CE’s public events calendar and Corporate Sponsorship program.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Communications, Public Relations, Organizational Leadership, Management Information Systems (MIS), or a related field
  • 10+ years of professional project management experience.
  • Strong project management discipline across complex, cross-functional initiatives.
  • Proficiency with PM software, permissions, user administration, SOPs, and operational reporting.
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams, deadlines, stakeholders, and dependencies simultaneously.
  • Strong meeting facilitation, follow-up, and written status communication skills.
  • Ability to create clarity in ambiguous environments and keep teams focused on decisions and next steps.
  • Comfort coordinating workflow tooling, dashboard status reporting, and operational handoffs.
  • High attention to detail, strong organization, and proactive issue escalation.

Nice To Haves

  • Direct experience with community events, event planning/execution, and committee management.
  • PMP, Agile, or Scrum credentials preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as project manager for the successful delivery of assigned programs, balancing priorities across multiple concurrent initiatives based on scope, complexity, and organizational needs.
  • Build and maintain integrated project plans with program owners.
  • Own task tracking, deadline tracking, dependency tracking, RAID log, and decision log for these programs.
  • Ensures tasks are entered and managed by CE staff for other programs.
  • Assign, confirm, and follow up on tasks in partnership with program leads.
  • Surface blockers, sequencing issues, capacity risks, and unresolved decisions in a timely way.
  • Ensure deliverables are organized, versioned, reviewed, and completed according to agreed priorities.
  • Establish and manage meeting cadences, including agenda planning, participant coordination, notes, follow-ups, and action tracking.
  • Coordinate committee and planning meetings related to modernization work, and two additional programs’ operations.
  • Ensure the right decisions are brought to the right forums at the right time.
  • Maintain clear communication routines so CE leaders and program owners understand progress, risks, and next steps.
  • Serve as the primary owner of CE project management software, including access, permissions, standard operating procedures, staff questions, upgrades, and changes.
  • Ensure CE modernization and program tasks and workstreams are represented accurately in the PM tool.
  • Coordinate PM tool adoption and usage expectations across CE staff and contractor roles.
  • Track workflow statuses and operational progress once the relevant dashboard or workflow tooling is available.
  • Coordinate operational dependencies across the Modernization Lead, Transformation & Change Enablement Lead, Implementation Specialist, CE staff, committee members, and cross-functional partners.
  • Manage the public calendar of CE events and opportunities in coordination with contributors.
  • Manage Corporate Sponsorship program administration.
  • Support clear handoffs between modernization planning, CE operations, and future implementation activities.
  • Direct committee and planning meetings for modernization work and ongoing operations across two additional programs.
  • Ensure key decisions are brought to the appropriate forums at the right time.
  • Maintain transparent communication routines so CE leadership and program owners remain aligned on progress, risks, and next steps.
