This internship offers an opportunity to contribute to real-world projects that influence public mobility policy.

Requirements

• Undergraduate or graduate student with a focus in urban planning, transportation planning, environmental planning, public policy, community/regional planning or related field.
• Completed at least three years of accredited college/university level coursework.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and task management abilities.
• Ability to communicate with multiple stakeholders and audiences.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and multi-task in a fast-paced remote work environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially PowerPoint (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
• Strong analytical skills and ability to collect, analyze, and synthesize data.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively in internal and external teams with a proactive, solution-oriented approach.

• Experience with local government, mobility, or public outreach efforts.
• Familiarity with Southern California communities and demographics a plus.
• Enthusiasm for working on real-world projects that influence public mobility policy.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the execution of the South Bay Cities Council of Governments Local Travel Network Outreach Plan, including attending in-person outreach events.
• Develop outreach materials, run of show, and organize logistics for engagement activities, including a ride-n-drive event.
• Support with Clean Mobility Options program administrative work, including organizing off-site(s).
• Draft outreach materials, including content for flyers, presentations, and community feedback tools.
• Support coordination and logistics for public events, pop-ups, and engagement activities.
• Compile and synthesize community input and survey data into summary reports.
• Track outreach activities and stakeholder engagement in a centralized system.
• Develop a summary presentation or visual product capturing key outreach findings and highlights.
• Provide general planning support for related mobility equity initiatives.
• Support the team with additional Clean Mobility Options duties and/or responsibilities, as needed.
