About The Position

Grand Canyon University (GCU) partners with nonprofit organizations identified by the IRS as 501(c)(3) to improve the quality of life for community residents. GCU has a partnership with ZimZam Global, located at 1134 E Irma Lane, Phoenix, AZ, 85024, which trains leaders to plant churches by discipling children. This CSLP student worker position is dependent on ZimZam Global's hours of operation and needs, with a maximum of 20 hours per week during the academic year. Eligibility for summer work is also available. This position is approved as Community Service, providing services to non-GCU community members to improve their quality of life, particularly for low-income individuals, or to solve problems related to their needs. Applicants must complete the FAFSA to be reviewed for Federal Work-Study (FWS) eligibility.

Requirements

  • Enrolled at GCU in a bachelor’s program or master’s program full-time during fall/spring or half-time during summer.
  • Maintain a 2.0 GPA as a Bachelor level student or a 3.0 GPA as a Master level student.
  • Maintain good financial and academic (SAP) standing with the University.
  • Must have reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in organizing OneMeal Food Packing Events, helping expand this initiative beyond Scottsdale Bible Church to other churches and organizations across the AZ valley and USA.
  • Coordinate GCU Global Events, AZ local events, where we engage new GCU students, potential ministry partners, donors and share ZimZam Global’s vision.
  • Meet with local partners and churches to strengthen relationships and explore new opportunities for community engagement.
  • Help with donor research, identifying potential new supporters and funding opportunities.
  • Assist in developing digital marketing strategies, including social media, email campaigns, and event promotions through our ZZG marketing team.
  • Support event logistics, volunteer coordination, and outreach efforts.
  • Volunteer and assist with Scottsdale Bible Church Shea Campus special needs ministry events.
  • Other duties as assigned.
