About The Position

As a Community Engagement Director (CED), you will lead the region’s strategic partnerships, philanthropic initiatives, and community and client engagement efforts. Working closely with executive leadership, this role serves as the regionwide authority on civic partnerships, community investment strategy, and event planning and execution. The role involves designing and implementing a comprehensive community engagement plan, building and maintaining strong relationships with nonprofit partners, and ensuring civic investments and sponsorships are mission-aligned and support revenue-generating opportunities. The CED will develop and maintain frameworks to measure community impact, engagement effectiveness, and alignment with business outcomes, preparing executive-level reporting that connects community investment, brand, and relationship development to client acquisition, retention, and regional growth metrics. This position also involves designing, planning, and executing internal and external events that elevate the client and employee experience and reinforce the bank’s values, tracking their ROI and effectiveness. The director will manage community engagement, philanthropic, and event budgets with discipline and transparency, ensuring resources are allocated strategically to initiatives with measurable impact. The role requires working with executive leadership to execute regional business development initiatives, strategic priorities, executive projects, and coordinate regionwide events. Collaboration with internal teams (Community Development, Commercial Lending, Retail Banking, Marketing, HR, and Risk) is essential to ensure initiatives are well-coordinated, compliant, and supportive of internal goals. The CED oversees the region’s philanthropic approach, including non-profit partnership selection, civic and philanthropic board involvement, volunteer initiatives, and related budget management, ensuring investments create meaningful community impact. Serving as a primary relationship steward for key external stakeholders and acting as a senior brand ambassador, the director will strengthen the Bank’s reputation and ensure consistent messaging. Identifying and mitigating reputational, compliance, and execution risks associated with community partnerships is also a key aspect, ensuring all activities reflect the Bank’s values and regulatory expectations.
