About The Position

The Fleischhacker Center for Ethical Leadership in Action at the College of Saint Benedict (CSB) and Saint John’s University (SJU) invites applications for a temporary position of Community Engagement Coordinator. The Community Engagement Coordinator (CEC) will support the continued development and capacity building efforts of CSB+SJU’s Fleischhacker Center for Ethical Leadership in Action. The Center serves as the hub for community engaged learning (CEL) at CSB+SJU and as a collaborative partner to organizations throughout central Minnesota. The CEC will strengthen sustainable systems, resources, and partnerships that connect faculty, students, and community partners. This is a part-time, temporary position expecting to work 10-15 hours per week during the academic year (15 weeks during each semester).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience
  • Experience working with Community Engagement (preferred)
  • Experience with Project Management (preferred)
  • Experience with Data Tracking (preferred)
  • Experience with volunteer coordination (preferred)
  • Requires working at a computer for extended periods, including sitting, typing, reading from a screen, and using various software programs essential for the role.
  • Occasional travel between the campuses of the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John’s University.

Responsibilities

  • Develop Resources and Best Practice Materials for Community Engaged Learning: Create handbooks, toolkits, and templates outlining best practices for ethical and sustainable CEL programs. Develop guidelines for partnership development, student preparation, and responsible engagement with community organizations. Produce communication materials introducing the Fleischhacker Center’s mission, values, and engagement framework. Build a centralized repository for CEL resources accessible to faculty, staff, and community partners. Establish systems for tracking CEL activities, partnerships, and resource usage to support long term sustainability.
  • Support Faculty in Implementing Community Engaged Learning Best Practices: Collaborate with CSB+SJU faculty to integrate CEL best practices into existing or new courses. Support alignment between course outcomes and community needs. Facilitate communication between faculty and community partners to ensure shared expectations and smooth collaboration. Track faculty engagement and gather feedback to refine future CEL support structures.
  • Data Tracking and Processing: Support the digital needs of the Fleischhacker Center with data tracking and processing. Support the implementation of a new CRM to manage community partner relationships. We will use systems such as: Microsoft Suite, SLATE, Navigate360, and Handshake among others.
  • Strengthen Community Partner Capacity to Engage in Collaborative Community-Engaged Learning Projects: Work with community partners to apply best practices developed in Objective I. Support partners in identifying project needs, defining roles, and preparing to host students effectively. Develop sustainable onboarding processes for partners, including healthcare based organizations. Create communication tools that streamline coordination between partners, faculty, and the Fleischhacker Center. Gather partner feedback and contribute to long term strategies for equitable, mutually beneficial collaborations.
