About The Position

Weisman Children's Rehabilitation Hospital is seeking a Part-Time Community Engagement Coordinator to join their team. This role focuses on connecting families and referral sources to the hospital's pediatric services, particularly Medical Day Care and Outpatient Programs. The coordinator will act as the community representative, building relationships with physicians, schools, social agencies, and other stakeholders to increase awareness and referrals, ensuring more children and families can access their services. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys building connections, is creative, and can work both independently and collaboratively.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required (Public Health, Human Services or related discipline preferred)
  • 3+ years of experience in community outreach, healthcare marketing, or referral development preferred
  • Proven success building partnerships with physician offices, government or community programs, schools, and/or agencies
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish strongly preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Passionate about engaging with families and community partners across diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds, including urban and underserved areas
  • Comfortable with CRM platforms and data tracking
  • Strong organizational skills and a proactive, self-directed work style
  • A strategic, creative mindset and a passion for community impact

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain relationships with community partners, including doctors, hospitals, schools, and local organizations.
  • Represent Weisman Children’s at community events, professional meetings, and outreach activities; occasional nights and weekends required.
  • Plan and conduct in-person visits and strategic outreach across your assigned territory.
  • Collaborate with the Communications team to develop and distribute marketing materials.
  • Clearly explain and promote service lines, ensuring referral sources understand who is served and how.
  • Provide thoughtful feedback from the community to leadership, helping shape future services.
  • Facilitate connections between community members and internal teams to create a seamless referral experience.
  • Use the CRM system to track outreach, plan follow-ups, and document referral activity.
  • Monitor growth goals, identify trends, and present updates to leadership.
  • Offer insights and ideas that help strengthen programs and outreach strategy.
