Our clients include political candidates, ballot measures, issue advocacy campaigns, government agencies, non-profit organizations, and Fortune 500 corporations across the U.S. and Canada. The Community Engagement Coordinator (CEC) will be passionate about community outreach, committed to making a meaningful impact, and skilled at communicating effectively with diverse populations in English, Spanish, and Vietnamese. This project-based role focuses on fostering community relationships in the East Bay (West Oakland / Alameda), San Jose, and the surrounding Bay Area. The CEC will conduct focused community outreach that includes house meetings, one-on-one engagement with community members, and stakeholder relationship management. The ideal candidate is experienced in community organizing, grassroots mobilization, or working with community-based organizations (CBOs) and thrives in fast-paced, collaborative, field-driven environments.

Requirements

  • Fluency in English and Spanish with the ability to communicate technical program details.
  • Experience in community outreach, public engagement, or canvassing.
  • Strong communication skills with diverse community members.
  • Detail-oriented and able to follow processes accurately.
  • Proficient with technology for data entry and communication.
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently, and manage time effectively.
  • Available to attend workshops and trainings at various locations in the Bay area
  • Must be able to have predictable and reliable attendance.
  • Must be able to work 5 days in-person during office hours at the worksite location.
  • The position also requires flexibility to work outside of standard business hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Overnight travel is required on an as needed basis.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous case management experience.
  • Experience with energy efficiency programs, rebates, or community services.
  • Familiarity and connection with local neighborhoods and communities in Bay Area
  • Proficiency with GSuite (Google Sheets, Google Docs), Salesforce, and RingCentral is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Promote programs and increase access to resources
  • Inform and educate residents on how to access government sponsored energy efficiency programs, financial aid, and utility bill discounts.
  • Engage community members in friendly, informative, and empowering conversations and assist with program enrollment.
  • Represent professionally at events, workshops, and community events.
  • Provide hands on “white glove” support to assist clients in completing applications for rebate programs.
  • Track client progress, follow up as needed, and maintain accurate records with confidentiality.
  • Foster strong connections with residents and local organizations.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert during workshops and presentations.
  • Inspire confidence and encourage program participation.
  • Collect and maintain outreach data for reporting and program improvement.
  • Increase community engagement and participation through effective relationship-building.
