The Community Engagement Coordinator builds and maintains vital relationships with residents, local businesses, civic groups, and houses of worship to identify concerns and develop collaborative, problem-solving partnerships. In this role, you will conduct follow-up outreach communication to gather details on ongoing community issues, document outcomes, and analyze neighborhood trends and basic crime data to support local problem-solving initiatives. This position facilitates communication and meetings between police personnel and community stakeholders, and directly coordinates logistics—including scheduling, registration, and materials—for police-led programs, National Night Out, camps, conferences, and academies like the Citizens, Teen, and Hispanic Academies. Additionally, you will represent the Police Department at safety and crime prevention meetings, prepare presentations, and administer specialized community programs such as Business Watch, Worship Watch, and Project Lifesaver by maintaining accurate, confidential participant records and tracking equipment. Perform other duties as required. This position is part of an approved Career Development Plan (CDP) and offers career progression opportunities and salary incentives, as funding permits, based on performance, qualifications, and experience.
