About The Position

The primary purpose of this position is to train basic vocational skills to small groups of individuals with developmental, behavioral and/or physical disabilities. ALL employees of Murdoch Center are designated as ESSENTIAL for adverse weather and emergency events.

Requirements

Must have ability to obtain NVCI, First Aid, and CPR certifications.
The applicant will be required to successfully complete the Murdoch Developmental Center “Basic Training Series”; which includes, but is not limited to program library training, First Aid, Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Techniques (NVCI), CPR, Body Mechanics and lifting.
Applicants must have the ability to pass a physical requirements test.
To be considered for employment, you must be in good standing with the North Carolina Health Care Personnel Registry.
Degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Valid driver’s license as applicable.

Nice To Haves

Experience using behavior management techniques, task analysis techniques and teaching strategies for individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities in a vocational setting.
Experience utilizing teaching/training techniques and strategies to promote progress.
Ability to functionally use MS Word to type progress/activity notes.
