About The Position
Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) members are trained volunteers who assist emergency services during disasters, large-scale incidents, and community events. Members provide support in non-hazardous roles and help improve overall community preparedness and response capabilities.
Requirements
- At least 18 years of age
- Ability to complete required CERT training
- Ability to pass a background check
- Willingness to attend trainings and respond to incidents when available
Responsibilities
- Provide rehabilitation support for firefighters and first responders (hydration, food, basic medical monitoring)
- Assist with light search and rescue operations during emergencies
- Support severe weather monitoring and storm response efforts
- Assist with emergency shelter operations during evacuations or disasters
- Participate in disaster response and recovery efforts
- Assist with public education and outreach on emergency preparedness
- Provide scene support such as traffic control, perimeter assistance, and logistics as directed.
