About The Position

Responsible for engaging within the communities we serve by actively participating in business development, community events, financial education, volunteer programs, and corporate giving. Under the supervision of the Business Development Manager, the Community Development Administrator supports regional and branch managers in the implementation of community and internal events and activities, volunteer opportunities and community outreach efforts. You will actively participate in business development efforts, develop and deepen community partnerships, deliver and support the delivery of financial education, represent HZCU on committees and boards, communicate clearly regarding community development topics to employees, members and key stakeholders. The Community Development Administrator seeks and finds new opportunities to assist with promoting the overall goals of the credit union to drive growth, serve our communities, deepen member relationships and increase our presence in the communities we serve. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Community Relations, Public Relations, Business or Marketing required.
  • Minimum of five years directly related experience in community relations, business development, public relations or related role.
  • Ability to work flexible hours as needed including mornings, late evenings, weekends and travel.
  • Reliable transportation is required.
  • Strong communication skills to include the ability to articulate clearly in both written and verbal delivery methods.
  • Proficient knowledge of MS Office programs including Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including maintaining positive relationships and excellent customer service skills.
  • Works effectively and collaboratively in a diverse work group, as well as independently with limited supervision.
  • Analyzes and interprets data for understanding and communicates diverse information.
  • Solves practical problems and deals with a variety of situations exercising flexibility and sound judgment in a fast-paced environment.
  • Makes practical and timely decisions and explains reasoning for decisions.
  • Ability to converse with others, detect sound, identify and detect objects, count, read, write, operate a computer, handle and feel objects, reach with hands/arms and be stationary and/or stand and/or move for long periods of time.
  • Occasionally an employee will lift/pull/push and carry up to 50 pounds, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb and be able to maintain balance doing these activities.
  • Position requires sound reasoning, good judgement and ability to apply knowledge toward work activities.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of five years of directly related experience to include organizing and conducting special event activities and projects in a business development/community relations position preferred.
  • Experience in volunteer work, event management, management systems and delivery of financial education is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supports community development initiatives and activities in designated region and credit union wide.
  • Works directly with branch managers in region on identification and implementation of business development, community outreach and financial education events, activities and initiatives.
  • Represents HZCU at a variety of Community and Marketing events/meetings and be able to communicate clearly about our mission, products, and community development activities.
  • Actively engages with community partners to identify volunteer opportunities and with employees to encourage and promote volunteerism and group volunteer activities.
  • Serves as a key point of contact and coordinator for marketing, business development, financial education and community outreach events in local and other regions as needed.
  • Assists with internal processes to capture and measure key metrics.
  • Present Financial Education workshops and financial reality fairs.
  • Monitor credit union, social and community trends and issues
  • Completes special projects as needed.
