Zufall Health is offering a Community Dental Health Coordinator (CDHC) Certification through a remote learning program. This program is designed using the curriculum developed by experts in education, public health, and dentistry to meet core competencies. CDHCs are community health workers with dental skills who are members of the dental team. They focus on case management, navigation, oral health education and promotion, motivational interviewing, and community mapping, linking patients to available dental care. CDHCs are trained to interact with cultural competence in dentally underserved communities, understanding the people, language, and barriers to oral health. The training emphasizes community outreach, coordination of care, educational and social interventions, and prevention. They work under a dentist's supervision, collect information for patient triaging, address social and health literacy issues, provide dental health education, coordinate care, and help patients navigate the healthcare system.
