About The Position

Curio, a leading education consulting and learning experience company, works with universities, vocational education providers, schools and companies to drive change through learning. We lead the online learning transformation of many of our clients and partners through a focus on the creation and delivery of exceptional learning experiences. Our focus on solving complex learner experience problems allows us to specialise in learning strategy, experience, content, design, and delivery. Our business practice stretches across Australia, New Zealand, Asia and the United Kingdom. This role is building a talent pool in Southeast Asia for upcoming contract opportunities within Learning Design and Instructional Design. This role is not guaranteed full-time work, but contract opportunities for multiple clients over a particular period of time (short-term and long-term) may be offered. Based on suitability, candidates will be taken through a recruitment process and onboarded into a 'talent pool' for quick engagement and onboarding when opportunities arise.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree with experience working in the education sector.
  • Experience in designing human-centred learning experiences and developing online learning by applying an understanding of learning theories, assessment standards, pedagogical practices, and their relationship to educational technologies.
  • Demonstrated experience producing learning content using tools such as Articulate Storyline, Rise, H5P, or Canva.
  • Experience working with LMS platforms (Canvas, Moodle, Blackboard, or others) and understanding content publishing workflows.
  • Ability to plan and deliver full learning design cycles—from discovery and storyboarding to production and delivery.
  • High-level problem-solving skills and an ability to be adaptive and innovative, using a design thinking approach.
  • Experience with using a variety of digital education technologies in curriculum design, including learning management systems, audio-visual and interactive media.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise initiative and autonomy with a mindset that is consistently focused on learning and development.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with staff, students and external stakeholders at all levels, and the ability to effectively explain complex educational ideas.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with others to achieve outstanding results, leveraging online communication tools.

Nice To Haves

  • A Master’s degree or higher.
  • Capacity to utilise and critically evaluate emerging learning technologies and apply approaches to innovation and improvement in current teaching and learning practices.
  • Familiarity with audio-visual production for eLearning (e.g., voiceover, video editing, animation).

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement engaging learning experiences and resources for higher education and corporate projects.
  • Collaborate with academic staff, SMEs, and internal teams to co-design innovative online and blended learning experiences.
  • Create and manage learning assets using learning management systems, authoring tools, and multimedia production platforms.
  • Write high-quality student-facing material to appropriate qualifications frameworks and industry standards.
  • Build interactive elements (e.g. H5P, video, or simulation-based activities) to enhance learner engagement.
  • Manage content quality, assess usability, and ensure accessibility (in line with WCAG standards).
  • Coordinate production workflows - storyboarding, feedback cycles, reviews, and version control to keep projects on track.
  • Work independently or in a distributed team using a variety of collaboration and project management tools.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally individually and in teams, including with client stakeholders, prospective clients and colleagues at Curio.
