About The Position

The Community Crisis Response Specialist Lead is responsible for developing a team that is effective and efficient in responding in collaboration with the location dispatch team, police department, Fire and Rescue department, EMS and 43 North Iowa Team members. The Team Lead is responsible for making sure that CCRT Specialists provide mental health support to community members who call 911 for a mental health or substance use emergency.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in a Human Services or related field.
Self-directed, highly motivated worker who can work independently.
Must be willing to engage in ongoing professional development and secure and maintain certifications as recommended by supervisor within required timeframes.
The employee must possess a valid driver’s license, liability insurance policy, and a reliable means of transportation.

Responsibilities

Treat all individuals with dignity and respect while maintaining agency standards of confidentiality, professionalism, and objectivity.
Adhere to all confidentiality requirements and regulations as outlined in CARF policies and procedures.
Provide leadership, guidance, and support to Community Crisis Response Specialists while promoting a positive, collaborative, and solution-focused team culture.
Responsible for arranging coverage when Community Crisis Response Specialist request PTO, call in sick and when shifts are open for any other reason.
Monitor and manage timeliness and accuracy of program documentation, as well as collect and review program data.
Provide crisis support to engage in successful participation in becoming stable and seeking appropriate program engagement in moving through a mental health or substance use crisis.
Assist individuals in connecting to programs that promote rehabilitation skills in areas including but not limited to symptom management, medication management, personal hygiene and health, housekeeping and laundry, budgeting and money management, meal planning and preparation, transportation, and applications for entitlements or other services.
Facilitate the effective use of services that are offered in the area to maintain stability.
Assess issues of concern with immediate need and the reason for contacting 911.
Advocate for patient right and facilitate effective use or services through individual choice.
Ensure that all necessary medical, psychiatric, therapy, and other service-related appointments are passed on to the team providing services to the patient.
Engage in communicate between partners of the Community Crisis Response team in a professional and growth minded manner.
Maintain appropriate documentation consistent with agency policies and procedures.
Be comfortable responding to mental health emergencies alongside other emergency personnel and ensure safety for all.
Maintain effective communication with management, colleagues and between shifts, reporting all key events within established timeframes.
Coordinate schedules and priorities with management and co-workers to ensure staffing needs are met.
Participate in departmental and agency meetings.
Provide input to other team members and volunteers to share responsibilities that contribute to the success of the team.
Be assigned to the Prairie Ridge Downtown Drop-In Center during its operating hours. Outside of operating hours, report to the designated Prairie Ridge work location unless responding to a Community Crisis Response Team (CCRT) call or otherwise directed by the supervisor.
Provide drop-in center staff assistance with developing activities and groups.
Co-facilitate activities and groups unless dispatched out for a CCRT call.
Engage in conversation and assist with patients who come to the drop-in center unless dispatched out for a CCRT call.
Develop and maintain a working knowledge of the Electronic Health Record, CARF policies, Feedback Informed Treatment, Nurtured Heart Approach, licensure standards and other parts of Prairie Ridge processes as needed.
All other duties as assigned.
