About The Position

The Community Coordinator, NB will be responsible for supporting a team of volunteers and staff as we deliver technology, recreation, and SmartLife programs. This position is funded through the Canada Summer Job program and requires candidates to be youth aged 15 to 30. The ideal candidate is passionate about changing what it is to be blind in Canada, is outgoing and a strong communicator, excels at working with young people and seniors, is driven to exceed expectations, and is creative, resourceful, collaborative, and solution-oriented.

Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication and superior interpersonal skills
  • Portray the appropriate professional image
  • Strong proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills to work to concurrent and/or conflicting deadlines
  • Highly flexible and able to respond to new tasks
  • Experience in developing and delivering presentations
  • Experience with database management

Nice To Haves

  • An active member in the blindness community
  • Proficiency in French and English
  • Experience developing events or programs for youth or seniors

Responsibilities

  • Support the planning, promotion, and delivery of CNIB recreation and social programs, including virtual and in-person activities.
  • Help schedule guest speakers, prepare program materials, and develop games, activities, and discussion themes.
  • Assist with summer activities and community-based events.
  • Provide support during program sessions by helping with hosting, participant engagement, and accessibility needs.
  • Track attendance, register participants, and complete basic data entry related to program participation.
  • Perform other related duties that support CNIB’s community programs.
