About The Position

The Community Benefit Educator will ensure general education and/or certification needs are met during courses and create reports with the public on injury prevention topics. This role requires excellent communication skills and a positive attitude when discussing topics for education to the public. The educator will represent East Tennessee Children’s Hospital with the utmost respect as this is a public-facing role. The position involves providing hands-on training to community members, teaching proper techniques to adults and children for each injury prevention topic event, and working closely with the Director of Community Benefit for resources and communication needed for events. The educator must be able to transport training materials and work both collaboratively and independently.

Requirements

• Must be able to have good communication skills and positive attitude when discussing topics for education to the public.
• Must be certified in Safe Sitter if teaching Safe Sitter course.
• Education to be provided through ETCH if needed.
• Moderate lifting, pushing, and pulling is up to 50 lbs occasionally, 20-30 lbs frequently.
• Frequent bending, walking, sitting squatting, reaching, and standing are.
• Keyboard/computer use and/or repetitive motions may be.

Nice To Haves

• Safe Sitter certification if teaching Safe Sitter course

Responsibilities

• If teaching Safe Sitter must be able to manage trainees during trainings and ensure they are attentive for teachings.
