About The Position

Corlann is seeking bright, ambitious individuals with a positive attitude towards working with people with an intellectual disability. The role is committed to ensuring that persons supported lead as fulfilling and enjoyable a life as possible. This is a Temporary Full-time Community Access Facilitator (Supervisor/instructor Grade) position. The Community Access Facilitator works with the Day Services wider team and management, as well as members of the multi-disciplinary team. They will also build and maintain working relationships with relevant community organizations, educational providers, and local employers. In this role, you will take a lead in supporting people within the framework of New Directions. You will work collaboratively with the person supported and their nominated circle of support to co-produce person-centered plans with ambition and possibility. You will support the person to access mainstream opportunities (education, work, civic life) on the same basis as others, and to challenge structural barriers where they arise. You will promote advocacy and self-direction, ensuring the person’s voice is central to all planning and decision-making by supporting adults with a disability to speak up for themselves and make their own choices, making sure their views guide all planning and decisions.

Requirements

  • Possess a Qualification in General Health and Social Care or Community and/or Youth Work, as outlined in the Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI) formerly FETAC on the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) of not less than QQI Level 5 (Major Award)
  • Or Possess a relevant Health Care qualification at not less than QQI level 5 on the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ)
  • Or An equivalent Health Care qualification from another jurisdiction.
