About The Position

Corlann is seeking bright, ambitious individuals with a positive attitude to work with people with intellectual disabilities. The role focuses on ensuring individuals lead fulfilling and enjoyable lives. This is a Temporary Part-Time Community Access Facilitator (Supervisor/Instructor Grade) position within the Tory Services at Waterford, South East Services. The Community Access Facilitator will collaborate with the Day Services team, management, and the multi-disciplinary team. They will also establish and maintain relationships with community organizations, educational providers, and local employers. The role involves taking a lead in supporting individuals within the New Directions framework, co-producing person-centered plans, and supporting access to mainstream opportunities (education, work, civic life). A key aspect of the role is promoting advocacy and self-direction, ensuring the individual's voice guides all planning and decision-making.

Requirements

  • Possess a Qualification in General Health and Social Care or Community and/or Youth Work, as outlined in the Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI) formerly FETAC on the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) of not less than QQI Level 5 (Major Award)
  • Or Possess a relevant Health Care qualification at not less than QQI level 5 on the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ)
  • Or An equivalent Health Care qualification from another jurisdiction.

Responsibilities

  • Support people within the framework of New Directions.
  • Work collaboratively with the person supported and their circle of support to co-produce person-centered plans.
  • Support the person to access mainstream opportunities (education, work, civic life) on the same basis as others.
  • Challenge structural barriers where they arise.
  • Promote advocacy and self-direction.
  • Ensure the person’s voice is central to all planning and decision-making.
  • Support adults with a disability to speak up for themselves and make their own choices.
  • Build and maintain working relationships with relevant community organisations, educational providers and local employers.
