Communications Technician
About The Position
In keeping with our mission of providing high-quality, reliable service, the Communications Technician position supports S&T's objective by providing quick response and quality service to all our customers. Tasks include installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting new and existing services from our outside plant telecommunications facilities. This position will also be responsible for routine testing and maintenance using various test and plant locating equipment. S&T values prior experience but also provides extensive on-the-job training in the various technologies and techniques used in the field.
Requirements
- General knowledge of telecommunications plant equipment operations and maintenance, including installation and repair.
- Hard-working, self-starter working as part of a team.
- Good communicator who enjoys working with customers and co-workers.
- Drug testing is required.
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience is valued.
- Extensive on-the-job training in the various technologies and techniques used in the field will be provided.
- Paid training provided.
Responsibilities
- Installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting new and existing services from our outside plant telecommunications facilities.
- Routine testing and maintenance using various test and plant locating equipment.
- Participate in an on-call rotation.
