About The Position

The Communications Specialist is responsible for performing marketing and communications-related duties on a professional level in specialized functional areas. This role involves curating content for internal and external communications, developing media relations, packaging content for distribution, and creating marketing content. The specialist will develop written content for all communication platforms, distribute public service announcements, and populate public event calendars. They will create strategic packaged stories with multimedia elements for earned media, track and report earned media, and develop written communications such as press releases and presentations. Researching and curating content for the website blog, ensuring SEO optimization, and creating copy for social media, infographics, and print collateral are also key responsibilities. The role includes coordinating TV appearances, interviews, developing radio and TV scripts, and managing New Provider Orientation communications. Building and maintaining relationships with media personnel, understanding and implementing the FHCN voice, and utilizing photography and Facebook Live for brand initiatives are essential. Maintaining accuracy of health center hours, services, and program information across various platforms, including the website and business listings, is crucial. Continuous audits and updates of collateral and digital content are required. The specialist will also manage health center monitors for marketing and employee engagement, combine newsletter copy with design elements, and manage online reviews and the company's reputation using Reputation Management tools. They will review, track, and report negative reviews and respond to online reviews and social media comments to gather feedback and enhance engagement. Adherence to the Attendance and Absenteeism Policy and the ability to travel between FHCN locations are also required.

Requirements

  • Possesses specific advanced knowledge and skills, including written and verbal communication skills, computational, computer and technical skills, and mathematical knowledge frequently acquired through the completion of a Bachelor’s degree with recognized significant or comparable experience.
  • A combination of relevant experience and completion of a high school diploma with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5, or General Educational Development (GED) with a minimum overall score of 162.5, and healthcare-related knowledge frequently acquired through completion of a trade school, para-professional, or certificate-type program.
  • Three years of strong copywriting and content creation experience is required, preferably in the healthcare industry.
  • Works well under pressure and meets tight deadlines.
  • Is tolerant and understanding of last-minute objective/project redirects.
  • Able to redirect goals unexpectedly upon objective change of priority.
  • Able to maintain focus on complete objectives on deadline.
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop), CANVA, and OptiSign.
  • Ability to prepare more complex documents in Microsoft Word, including creating tables, charts, graphs and other elements.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Excel to review and compile data, including the use of formulas, functions, lookup tables and other standard spreadsheet elements.
  • Ability to create advanced presentations in Microsoft PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven team environment.
  • A valid CA driver’s license is required.
  • Job duties require compiling and analyzing information prepared in effective written form, including correspondence, reports, articles or other documentation.
  • Effectively conveys technical information to non-technical audiences.

Nice To Haves

  • If an individual has completed a degree at a higher level than required by the role and had a stronger GPA in that program, they may provide proof of GPA from that degree in lieu of the high school diploma or Bachelor’s degree.
  • Experience with multimedia and an extensive knowledge of art, design, photography, and video production, with applied use in marketing, are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Curating content, including but not limited to network-wide internal and external communications.
  • Developing media relations.
  • Packaging turnkey content for distribution to all media outlets.
  • Developing authentic still and automated marketing content.
  • Developing all written content/copy for all FHCN communication platforms that align with the Network’s communications objectives and goals.
  • Distribution of all public service announcements related to all FHCN-produced community health fairs and events.
  • Populating FHCN-produced community health events on all media public event calendars.
  • Developing strategic packaged turnkey stories to include soundbites, talking points, videography, still photography, and quotes, and delivering to prospective media outlets to gain earned media.
  • Tracking and reporting all earned media content.
  • Developing, executing, and overseeing all written communications, including press releases, press kits, specialized pitch letters, presentations, talking points, and digital stories.
  • Researching and curating content for FHCN’s website blog, working cross-functionally with Digital Marketing & Analytics Specialist and LocaliQ SEO team to ensure content includes relevant SEO keywords.
  • Creative copy for all social media posts, infographics, print collateral, etc.
  • Coordinating T.V. appearances, interviews, and developing talking points.
  • Developing radio advertising scripts.
  • Developing commercial videography storyboards and scripts.
  • New Provider Orientation communications related to Marketing and Public Relations.
  • Managing a comprehensive list of media outlets and their contacts to build relationships with media personnel.
  • Understanding and implementing FHCN voice for all curated content.
  • Photography and Facebook live content to support network brand initiatives, newsletters, and social media.
  • Maintaining the accuracy of FHCN health center hours, services, and special programs through various platforms.
  • Maintaining accurate information as pertains to network services, specialized programs, network updates, history, and all other pertinent network information on all platforms, both public-facing and internal.
  • Maintaining and correcting hours of operation and site-specific services on FHCN’s website.
  • Ensuring the accuracy of all business listings for each health center and administrative site.
  • Continuous audits and updates of all FHCN collateral and digital content to ensure accuracy.
  • Curating content, coordinating updates, and managing all health center monitors to promote marketing strategies and employee engagement specific to each market circle.
  • Combining newsletter copy with design elements to produce internal and external newsletters.
  • Managing all communications regarding online reviews from patients and past/current employees, and managing Family HealthCare Network's reputation.
  • Conducting research and reporting on employment reviews from Indeed and Glassdoor using Reputation Management.
  • Reviewing, tracking, and reporting negative reviews related to online reviews through the ARMs reporting system.
  • Responding to online reviews, social media comments, and messages to gain additional patient feedback.
  • Engaging with all social media comments to elevate social media engagement and authenticity.
  • Adhering to the Attendance and Absenteeism Policy, recognizing that regular attendance is considered an essential function of all FHCN positions.
  • Ability to present to and work at any FHCN location, both at the beginning of a shift or during a shift, based on business need.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
