About The Position

The Communications Specialist – IT supports internal communications for Textron Information Services (TIS), partnering with IT stakeholders to turn complex technology initiatives into clear, engaging messages that drive awareness, understanding, and adoption. The role supports enterprise technology and Corporate initiatives—including collaboration tools, security programs, and digital transformation efforts—across channels such as the intranet, email, Microsoft 365, digital signage, and live or virtual events.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field

Responsibilities

  • Support departmental and local communications that engage employees and reinforce business priorities, including: Develop department messaging and content for electronic display boards, Viva Engage and the intranet, Support regular All Hands Meetings for the TIS function
  • Partner with TIS stakeholders to communicate enterprise initiatives to IT professionals across Textron’s business units. Responsibilities include: Develop executive communications for the CIO, Manage content for IT professionals on Viva Engage and ERIC, Deliver rapid-response communications for outages, security incidents, and other urgent IT issues, Track performance using email and intranet analytics using insights to improve messaging, targeting, and channel strategy, Support TIS events, including Global IT Exchange and functional town halls
  • Support employee communications for enterprise-wide, business-unit, and country-specific audiences on technology rollouts, security topics, mobile tools, and other IT initiatives, including: Develop communication plans and materials for service updates, outages, security topics, collaboration tools, and mobile capabilities, Participate in communications planning with Corporate Communications, including: Contribute to editorial planning, Maintain knowledge of intranet personalization features, Apply intranet capabilities in communications planning, Build relationships with business unit IT and communications teams to support planning, Advise TIS leaders and subject matter experts on strategy, messaging, and channel selection, Maintain content in the MyIT intranet section, Partner with the Sr. Manager, Digital & Brand Communications on TIS employee communications, Support special projects and events as needed, Stay current on communications trends and recommend new tools and tactics
  • Develop communications strategies that support adoption of enterprise technology initiatives such as Generative AI, Support communications for emerging technologies, including AI-enabled tools, Translate technical concepts into clear, user-focused messaging, Support rollout, change, and reinforcement communications
